Rev. Dr. Willie Mae Hawkins was called into ministry in the Spring of 1994 while attending Truth Tabernacle Ministries in Rocky Mount, NC under the leadership of Rev. Haywood L. Parker. In 1997. she began seminary at Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, she joined the United Church of Christ denomination and begin to receive hands-on training at Poplar Springs United Church of Christ (now Christian Church) in Raleigh, NC under Pastor Charles Brooks. In the UCC, she was introduced to local and state denominational affairs, political issues from a Christian perspective, the fight for social justice, along with the local and world missions of the church. Dr. Hawkins was ordained in February 2002. In 2003, she has served as an associate pastor under Rev. K. Ray Hill, Pastor-Teacher at Maple Temple UCC in Raleigh, NC. By the Summer of 2015, Dr. Hawkins begin initiating Center of Faith Ministry, a new church which was birthed on the first Sunday in 2016. God began a new thing in her life and in the local community of Enfield, NC. (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Dr. Hawkins has earned an Associate Degree in Business Computer Programming from Nash Community College, Rocky Mount, NC; Bachelor Science in Business Administration from Barton College, Wilson, NC; a Masters of Divinity from Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA; and a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Renewal from Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA. She has one adult son, W. Ray'von Hawkins.
Her membership includes: NAACP, ACPE, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. When considering her call to labor in ministry, Dr. Hawkins finds comfort in Exodus 33:14, "... My presence shall be with thee and I shall give thee rest."

- Formed Community Ministries, Inc. a 501(c)3 organization and Spring, Inc - A national Single Parenting Ministry
- Served as a hospital chaplain, mental health therapist and a Regional Women’s Ministry Consultant in the United Church of Christ (UCC), serving over 219 churches and more than 20,000 women.
- Published several books including She Builds a Vineyard: A Single Parent’s Transformational Journey, a spiritual autobiography, which inspired her mentoring group for women and teenage girls called 'She Builds a Vineyard'. (www.SheBuildsaVineyard.com)
- Hosted spiritual and community TV shows in Raleigh, NC, called the 'The Vineyard'
- Her recent work, she published a #1 bestselling book, 'Building a Vineyard: 7 Steps toward a Greater Purpose
